Abstract
In the tenth century Hijri (the sixteenth century AD), the Ottoman Sultanate sent several military campaigns to Yemen as it felt the importance of the geographical strategic location of Yemen on the Red Sea, such as the military campaigns by the two Walis, Azdomer Basha and Sinan Basha Al-Wazeer, who were distinguished leaders in both military and administrative aspects.
The Ottoman Sultanate was keen to send military campaigns to Yemen since the beginning of the tenth century Hijri / the sixteenth century AD because it felt the significance of the Red Sea, the Arab ports, the most important of the Ottoman of the land of Hegaz when the Arab countries were invaded by the Portuguese, and the world trade had been changed and monopolized. That had led to collapse of the economy of the Arab countries such as Yemen.
The current research discusses the most important historical events which took place in the era of the first Ottoman rule in Yemen, during the Wali Azdomer Basha and the Wali Sinan Basha Al-Wazeer. In spite of the time period separating the two walis, the historical events that happened in the two periods of the walis were almost similar. Both of them had faced the most important local force, which the force of the Imam Sharafuddin's state. Both of these two walis had been instrumental in the Ottoman control of all Yemen.
