The preachers tribe and its role in the contemporary history of Yemen
Abstract
The study of local history in the modern and contemporary history of Yemen is few, and the history of Tihama was not studied as an extensive study like other regions of Yemen, which are considered pristine, as only a few historians touched on them. And the role she played despite the emergence of her importance in the modern and contemporary history of Yemen, including the tribe of preachers.
Based on this, the researcher sought to clarify the history of an important part of the Tihama of Yemen, which is the city of Al-Zahra (Al-Zahra), which was the seat of the rule of the Al-Ashraf Al-Khairat family.
Here, the letter came under the title (The Tribe of Preachers and Its Role in the Modern and Contemporary History of Yemen), in order to highlight its political role that it played in an important period in the modern and contemporary history of Yemen, through its important strategic location, which connects the plain and the mountain.
This study dealt with the history of women preachers from the first mention of them obtained by the researcher in the books of Islamic history, with a focus on the period of the state of the nobles, the Khairat family, and the second entry of the Ottomans into Yemen in 1848 AD, until the date of their departure from it in 1919 AD and its delivery to the leader of the preachers and Tihama at the time, Sheikh Hadi Haig.
