Khmeriyat Poetry in the Diwan of Al-Mu'tamid Ibn Abbad Al-Andalusi "Descriptive Analytical Study"

Abstract

This research paper entitled “Wine Songs in the Andalusian Poetry: An Applied Study on the Poetry Collection of al-Mu'tamidibnAbbad, King of Seville” deals with the poetic theme of wine as a poetic genre that had its presence during the Andalusian age. It presents the special image of this poetic theme and the availability of its evidence in the poetry of ibnAbbad. One of the findings of this research is that wine poetry as a poetic theme has its presence and artistic elements in ibnAbbad’s poems. Another finding is that it similarly has all the features of previous poetry that dealt with this theme. A third finding is that ibnAbbad could transmit this poetic genre with all its characteristics and could make it in accordance with the nature of the society he lived in. The study recommends that this research can be considered as an introduction that may lead to a complete academic study of this poetry collection to explore its other poetic aspects.
