Abstract

The follower of the history of Tihama finds that it did not have many historical studies as an important part of the political, economic and social history of Yemen compared to others, and perhaps this is due to the political and economic conditions that the Tihama region went through, as the long struggle over governance had a great impact on its residents’ fear of writing and recording events and facts There is also another reason, as the general public was not able to obtain papers due to their scarcity and high value, and the city of Al-Zaidi is one of the cities of Tihama, which played an important political and scientific role, as it was the link between the north and south of Tihama, and a scientific center that students of science come to from the far north and south of Tihama. And from the mountains of Malhan and Al-Mahweet, and even from outside Yemen, and it received the attention of the Ottomans administratively, so they made it a center for the judiciary, a headquarters for their administrative workers, and a barracks for their armies to deter the tribes from the north and the south, and it continued after their departure to play the same role until the end of the study period in 1962 AD.
